This large bay on the mainland is mostly shallow. Our only recommended anchorages are at the mouth of the bay or on the small island further south.

J K SIX SENSES NINH VAN BAY 12 miles from Bao Dai Villa

SIX SENSES NINH VAN BAY. 12°21.55N, 109°16.71E

Both locations on Mui Hon Thi Cape are part of the Six Senses resort, which has become firmly established as a celebrity getaway destination.

The small bay immediately in front of the resort is out of bounds for yachts unless you have specific permission in advance from the management to visit. There is a large reef to the east of the bay directly in front of the restaurant. The other bay to the west has a secluded beach and although the resort uses this bay, anchorage is possible in 5 metres on a sandy bottom.

L CAI SUNG BAY 13 miles from Bao Dai Villa

CAI SUNG BAY. 12°22.840N, 109°18.890E

On approach, take care to avoid a large shoal patch in the centre of the bay. Anchor in 8 metres inside the northern end of the bay close to a fishing village. Most of the shoreline is quiet and uninhabited.

While every effort has been made to ensure that the information contained in this book is accurate, the charts of anchorages are based on personal experience and satellite imagery and are intended as a guide only. They should not be used for navigation. Please refer to Official Hydrographic Charts of the respective countries.
