1.5 miles east of the safe water mark at Hin Ruru is the entrance channel to Khlong Taling Chan. This channel gives access to Krabi Boat Lagoon Marina.
There’s a red buoy channel marker (set by the marina) at 7°57.9N, 98°55.2E. There used to be waypoints, up the river and into the basin, on the marina’s website which we advised printing out before heading towards the marina.
However, that resource is not currently available. Indications are that it may be temporary issue as we go to print. We recommend that you check the website www.krabiboatlagoon.com in case the information has been reinstated.
This marina is a sister project to the Phuket Boat Lagoon, with many similarities including an internal basin, a resort, a condominium and a café/bar ashore.
According to reports received, there was at one time a problem relating to less-than-perfect delivery of services, but that’s all in the past. The marina is now under the same proficient management team as its ‘older sister’ in Phuket. We expect to see positive changes quickly in every aspect of the marina’s operation.
Krabi Town is 30 kilometres by road and about five miles by dinghy through the right branch of the river.
